The Guardian Crosses the River Into Northern Kentucky

NEWPORT, Ky. — Aug. 10, 2026 — The Guardian family of independent local newsrooms announced today that it is expanding into the Commonwealth with two new publications: NKYGuardian.com, covering Boone, Kenton, Campbell, and the surrounding counties of Northern Kentucky, and CampbellGuardian.com, a newsroom dedicated entirely to Campbell County — from the riverfront in Newport, Bellevue, and Dayton to Fort Thomas, Cold Spring, Highland Heights, and Alexandria.
The new sites bring the same formula that made the Scioto Valley Guardian southern Ohio's go-to source for breaking news and made the Clermont Guardian a daily habit across 17 communities: around-the-clock breaking news, live coverage from scenes and courtrooms, unflinching crime and courts reporting, government accountability, traffic, weather, school closings, sports, and obituaries — with every story free to read in full. No paywall. No story limits.

Alongside the reporting, the Guardian will debut its next-generation news experience in Northern Kentucky. The launches will occur in August 2026.
